After being one of the 30,000 people who attended the audition, Rachel Zegler was selected to play the role of Maria in Steven Spielberg’s remake of the classic West Side Story (2020), alongside Ansel Elgort as Tony. She first performed the role at a School of Performing Arts performance at the Bergen Performing Arts Center.
